Setup of Hyper Terminal

• Open Hyper Terminal exe.file (Double click) Path Program files\accessories\communication\hyperterminal
• Name the terminal
• Pick an icon

 

 

Go to Properties  >  File\Properties

 

Connect to Tab

• Connect using: Direct to Com 1 (check control panel
• Configure...

 

Port Settings Tab

• Bits per second: 9600
• Data Bits: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow Control: None

 

Advanced Port Settings

• X Use FIFO
• Use lowest settings for both Receive and Transmit Buffer

 

Settings Tab

• Select Terminal keys
• Select Ctrl+H
• Emulation: Auto Detect
• Telnet terminal: ANSI
• Backscroll: 500

 

Importing Data from Access unit

 

Open Hyper Terminal

• Select Transfer\Capture Text
• Name file Select Start

 

Import Data from Access unit At Hyper Terminal

• Select Transfer\Capture Text\Stop

 

Open Excel

• Open Hyper Text file
• Import Wizard will launch
• Select Fixed width
• Select Next
• Enter lines where you wish to have columns setup select Finish
